Who knew that aside from some of the best skiing in west the little mining town of Silverton, Colorado is also home to a boutique rum distiller. Montanya Distillers know that the key ingredient to rum is water and in Silverton, Colorado they not only have access to water...but good, clean and clear Rocky Mountain water. Probably the only rum distiller above 9000 feet and worth the hike. BTW, they age the rum in whiskey barrels from Stranahan's.
