Coursing Colorado Coyotes
I have been angling to join my friend on a coyote hunt for years. While hunting pronghorn this weekend the stars aligned and we hit the fields with his amazing pack of hounds + ONE for a day of running dogs.

I never expected that this Lab/Shepard mix would be such a dog killing machine. He picked up the art from his ranch buddies and damn near exceeds their abilities. See the vid at bottom.
Colorado Sage Grouse - 2014
Among the most coveted, upland hunts in Colorado is the Sage Grouse. With a limited two day season and a limited possession (2 birds) wingshooters with a hankering for a trophy are always on the hunt for this species. I finally got mine this weekend.
My New Doorman
It's amazing how long you wait for a trophy to hang on your wall after taking it. This magnificent, Olive Baboon was shot in 2012 near Tete, Mozambique. He was the troop leader and definitely had command of it. I am not really interested in shooting primates but when this bruiser crossed my path I had a change of heart. He now hangs proudly, in my front room, scaring the shit outta everyone who walks in the door.
Bitchin' Farm House on the Prairie
Not much in the way of Cogburn's anywhere this season but that doesn't mean the chase ends or the dogs quit working. This weekend had us in Eastern, Colorado. And just like before the birds were thin. The farm house we stayed in on the other hand was off the hook.
