Playmobil Toy Bullfight Set

With San Isidro upon us my thoughts target Los Toros. This toy, sourced at ToroShopping.com is sure to please the taurine addict among us and definitely the bambino's. I want it so bad I can taste the sand.

Padilla takes on Madrid - Feria del Arte - 6-5-2013

Arguably one of the most anticipated days in Madrid this season. The Corrida de Beneficencia welcomed Padilla, Morante de La Puebla and Sebastien Castella to the sand along with the bulls of Valdefresno. While most came to see Padilla who was magnificent with the capote on his first animal, it was Morante who won the crowd...sorta.

Padilla's second bull tossed him. And from the live stream, looked like he got a pretty good one in his calf.

San Isidro - 5-19-2013 - The Rain in Spain

Not even the hail could dampen the mood of Madrileno's today at Las Ventas. Three matadors took to the sand with the bulls of Fermin Bohorquez and the ring lit on fire. The bulls were brave and on rails. The torero's fearless and wet. But, the biggest news of the day is that Diego Silveti is the first Mexican torero in 13 years to cut an ear in Madrid. Bravo Maestro!

"Pajarero" Indulto - Padilla 5-18-2013

May 18th, 2013 turned out to be quite a day for aficianado's keeping up with the days corridas. Juan Padilla masterfully worked the muleta on Pajarero, a toro so brave the crowd asked for his life and an indulto was granted.  In the Plaza de Toros, Osuna, Pajarero walked off the sand as few bulls ever do for a life spent mating on the plain in Spain. Beautiful.

Alejandro Talavante - Six Toros - San Isidro

The task of killing two bulls in the afternoon is a formidable  challenge as it is. Alejandro Talavante had the honor of killing six bulls today, in Madrid, by himself. The well armed, Toros de Victorino Martin took to the sand for this special event.

San Isidro - 5-14-2013 When Silver Becomes Gold

What started off very badly with a toss, throwing Lopez Simone on his very first pass with the muleta on his alternativa, quickly became magic with a series of passes that showed the young mans promise as he was confirmed a Matador. Shoeless and stained with blood y sand Lopez won back the crowd. His estocada work however, was nothing short of abysmal and unfortunately sobered  the mood.
