Owsley Stanley designed this belt buckle in 1983 (etchings on reverse). "The Bear" as he was known, was responsible for the traditional dancing bear logo of the Grateful Dead among other things involving chemistry. Stanley also was the Deads sound engineer. The original buckle measures 2" across. These beauties are highly sought after by purists and aficionados of The Dead.
